 About Rita:
I have been sewing clothes and assorted items for well over 30 years . During that time I have had a variety of custom - made businesses including made to measure swimwear , fabric jewellery and fashion accessories. My passion is working with quality fabrics and assisting people in choice of colour and design that will enhance their natural bodies and make them feel great. I have many years of experience with combining best fabric choice for individual pieces and individuals! Schianto Handmade has been developing over many years and incorporates everything I have learnt from my clients and of course my children , who are my greatest critics and inspiration!
I work from home in an environment which works well for client comfort.
Made to order Dressmaking
The gallery page shows a collection of some of my pieces , as examples. Mother of the bride or groom outfits, special occasion clothing ,or daywear - I am happy to assist in any way I can with design and fabric choice.
I work with clients own fabrics and I also have a large and varied collection of fabrics from which people can choose.
I can also assist with pattern choice or photos of designs.
Baby Blankets
Personalised Baby blankets are made from high quality velour polar fleece and 100% cotton .They are low care - machine washable. Cot size 1 x 1.5 metres are $100. They can also be used on a single bed.
Personalized pram size blankets are $60 and are also great for 'baby floor time'.

Polar Fleece Blankets
High quality non-pill polar fleece blankets measuring 2x1.5 metres. They are a great gift and can be personalise with initials.$60 plain or $70 with initials
Travel blankets which fold into a cushion - are also a perfect gift for many people. eg. backpackers heading off on their adventure, football watching etc. $50
Heat pillows
I have been making and selling heat pillows for many years .I use mainly satin/ silks and cottons and all pillows are fully lined for extra insulation and comfort. They come in two shapes - Regular rectangular or curved for the neck
Soft Toys
I have now added a range of children's cushions which are character or initialed. You can view some samples on my gallery page.
